Simantel has added three new staff members to start off 2010. Jeff Segneri, a 2009 graduate of Bradley University, has been hired to support Simantel’s business development efforts. Stacy Barr will support Simantel’s growing media department and help support development and execution of clients’ media campaigns. Lynn Ann Boon, a Senior Account Manager, will be leading Simantel account teams and client projects in her new role.
Sometimes the blog updates get bumped for “real work,” and over the last few months it happened a lot. Here’s a gallery of stuff we never got around to posting. Fast-forward to 2010!
Way back in September, Rhonda Pelka took over the controls at the front desk. If you haven't met her yet, this is what she looks like.
The Simantel Blood Drive took place last week and raised (gathered? harvested?) a very respectable 16 pints of Simantel blood for the Red Cross. And while most of us walked away from the BloodMobile unscathed, intern Tracy Blasiak – an enthusiastic first-time donor – was scathed slightly. But don’t worry, she’s fine. So is Account Manager Carol Molinari, who is pictured alongside Tracy in the “After” photo.
If you watch this and wonder what it’s all about, you probably haven’t yet been exposed to Account Manager Barry Littlejohn’s fabulous white suit. Learn more here.
In response to this latest assault, a defiant Barry said he now plans to wear the suit “more than ever.”
Last Friday we reluctantly said goodbye to our longtime friend, Deanna Hood, the smiling face of Simantel’s front desk. She’s moving with her family to Tennessee, where she will be learning to appreciate things like sour mash whiskey and volunteering to fight at the Alamo.
Good luck Deanna. Keep your feet on the ground but never stop reaching for the stars.
Deanna smiles as Barry tries to seem nonchalant about wanting cake.
To announce our arrival in the blogosphere, Jake and Josh dropped a large quantity of fresh rhymes. If you didn’t get to see this the first time around, enjoy! If you did, here’s your chance to fall in love all over again.
Account Manager Barry Littlejohn owns a beautiful cream-colored suit. He wears it (to work!) without irony and without apology. Needless to say, we ridicule him mercilessly as a result. Here are some of the latest tributes to Barry and his suit, compliments of Matt W., Andrew T. and Jake:
Twenty years ago last week, The Cosby Show was going strong, Billy Joel was electrifying the nation with “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” unleaded gas cost $1.12 a gallon, and a young Kevin McConaghy began his employment with a crazy little ad firm called Simantel. We celebrated the occasion by making Kevin very uncomfortable.
Simantel co-owner Kevin McConaghy squints to read the name on his anniversary card.
